Pune, January 19, 2018: Happiness, cheer and tears of joy followed by the applause of all proud parents, teachers and well-wishers present at the SecondConvocation Ceremony of the Ajeenkya DY Patil University witnessed one more jubilant occasion for the University.
This auspicious event also witnessed the presence of Chief Guest Hon’ble Smt Pratibha Devisingh Patil--Former President of India--who graced the ConvocationCeremony. Other dignitaries including Dr D Y Patil (Former Governor of Bihar, Tripura and West Bengal), Dr Vijay DY Patil (Chancellor, DY Patil University) andDrAjeenkya D Y Patil (President,Ajeenkya DY Patil University) enthused the audience with their inspiring presence.
Another remarkable highlight of the evening was the moment when Adar Poonawalla (Chief Executive Officer of Serum Institute of India) and Hukam Chand Sharma (Legal Luminary) were conferred the Doctor of Letters – Honoris Causa (D.Litt) for their contribution towards the betterment of the society. Truly, it was an evening of pure success and accomplishments.
Addressing the Convocation Address is Hon’ble Smt. PratibhaDevisinghPatil, “It is a matter of great pride to be a part of Ajeenkya DY Patil University’s SecondConvocation Ceremony. It maybe a Young University, but to see it fulfill its mission to transform people’s lives through leveraging the potential of educational excellence is a sheer jubilation.”
Dr Ajeenkya DY Patil, President—Ajeenkya DYPatil University, addressed the gathering. He went on to say that, “Our aim has always been to contribute to the creation of Innovation oriented Indian society and apply innovative thinking across our academic processes. Our mission is to graduate students who are prepared to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing and increasingly complex world.”
Dr Eknath BKhedkar--Vice Chancellor--Ajeenkya DY Patil University--also spoke about the achievements, plans and programs. He went on to congratulate all the graduating students and spoke about various fields of expertise the university offers. Staying true to their mission of providing the best of facilities and programs to the students, he assured to continue doing the same to create a better future.
The Convocation witnessed students graduating from various streams of undergraduate and post-graduate courses like Law, Management, Media & Communication, Film-making, Design, Automobile & Digital Modelling. Gold medals were awarded to students who have excelled in their academics.
